Brilliant!
That is all I can say. Not my normal book but I enjoyed it immensely. The characters pulled me in and kept me wanting more. the spiritual influence in the book was a nice change to the norm, and it was a definite good touch. So well done Hunter K, very well done. This is the kind of book that I will be reading over and over again.

CRACK!
The 9-ball went in the hole, corner pocket. Game Set Match. 3-0 Ronda walked over to Earl, and with her left hand, took the wad of cash, kissed his right cheek, spun around and gave Dick $1,000. She whispered in his ear, “Tell Rach, you got lucky tonight, from a friend.” Dick’s eyes were burning from the smoke filled room; he rubbed his tired eyes from the concentration it took to run the last two racks. Ronda perked her full lips and took in the smoke and blew it over his shoulder and said. “Now love – go and take care of your Fawn. I’ll take care of Wally.” Rach had made a promise to herself as she hobbled herself up the stairs in pain. She’d confess to Dick, but not until after she had held him in his arms and felt his presence by her side. Dick felt a little tinge of pride at being able to still play. It was like, if he never picked up a stick again, he could walk out and feel what it felt like to have a win notched in his belt. He realized it felt like home. As he was walking upstairs he heard a voice from the crowd.

Zoran” Kassy’s whisper astonished her as the name rolled from her mouth seductively. It was like she had known this man all of her life, and even beyond that time. As he approached her, her feet took on a mind of their own and she bolted for the elevator, jabbing at the button. As the doors opened she fell inside, panting as they closed behind her. She breathed deep, but just for a second, because they began to open again as long fingers pried them apart; he pushed them aside like they were curtains of the lightest cloth. She stood in the corner, heart pounding in her ears, but not with fear, it was an adrenaline high that flushed her face as he entered, letting the doors close behind him. The elevator didn’t move, as she had not pushed the button to go anywhere. He moved stealthily to her, his body pinning her to the wall and as she gazed up at him, Kassy whispered the only name she knew. “Zoran.” He gave half a grin, and lowered his head to her ear, pushing her red hair out of the way as his breath caressed her skin. “Your name, maiden, please tell me.” As she said Kassandra, he groaned at the sound. “Kassandra, you have released me, and now my heart, body and soul belong to you, as you do to me. You always have my fair one. It was foretold by my father, and you have followed your heart as time has told you to.” He let his lips touch lightly to her neck and felt her shudder as his hand threaded into her hair, he gazed into those eyes, completely captivated. As their faces were only a breathe apart, he took her mouth with his kissing her so lightly, she wasn't sure that their lips had touched at all. Written by L.S.
